I recently created a very well-thought-out and useful guide to help businesses assess their current websites and make them better and more effective at booking clients.

When I first created the download, I called it "DIY Website Audit".

Simple enough but super boring!

I am constantly advising my clients to be bold, authentic, vulnerable, and take risks but I realized that I don't always practice what I preach.

There is some much hype and bad advice and BS in the world today and it's hard to cut through all of the noise. You have to be willing to take risks if you want to succeed. The problem is that we are living in the most hypersensitive time in our world's history.

EVERYTHING is a trigger!

I knew this to be true but it was made painfully obvious today when I sent out my free download which I renamed from "DIY Website Audit" to "Why Your Website Sucks" (which you can CLICK HERE to download btw)!

Now, remember...I am sending this out to my email list. I have no idea if someone who is getting it has a sucky website or not.

Never did I imagine that people would actually be personally offended and triggered by this. So much so that they even took time out of their busy day to send me emails letting me know they were offended. One person simply sent me the middle finger emoji which I found particularly amusing.

What is this world we are living in? It's not like I personally told them to their face that their website sucks and even if I did...why are you so upset about it? Unless maybe they believe it's true...just saying!

What really bothers me about this is not that people responded with obvious disdain for me but the fact that we live in a society where we are scared shitless to be authentic and take chances for fear of being canceled. And btw...I am sorry (but not really) to any of you who are personally offended by me using the word shitless.

I wanted to write this blog post to personally thank the handful of people who responded (although I doubt they will see this post). Although a little shocked at first, my reaction is not to cower out of fear of further judgment, exactly the opposite. This has fueled a fire in me to be even more bold and courageous!

Because I truly, honestly care! Not just about my clients and their success but I care about living in a world where we are free to express ourselves authentically without living in fear of being judged or canceled!

The reason people play it safe and fail is that they are afraid of a middle finger emoji.

I get it, it's scary to put yourself out there and I am certainly not immune to that fear. But, in order to stand out in a world where everyone is screaming for your attention you have to be willing to get crystal clear on who you are and what you are all about and then find the courage to show that authentic person to the world.

This is who I am. I am not a get your "DIY Website Audit" person. I am a no BS "This is Why Your Website Sucks" person. I believe that beating around the bush and sugarcoating are not going to get you where you want to be in your business.

There are too many people out there trying to tell you what you want to hear but I can't do that because, the truth is that if your website sucks, you are losing business and I don't want you to lose business, I want you to be wildly successful!

Listen, I know I'm not for everyone. There are some people who like things to be sugarcoated (or even swept under the rug) because they can't handle the truth. If this is you, I respect that and I will remind you of the convenient "unsubscribe" button at the bottom of all of my emails.

If, on the other hand, you are ready to be bold and courageous and experience the exhilaration of facing your fear and coming out the other side wildly successful and appreciated for the unique gifts and talents you offer the world...give me a call, we need to talk!
